I'm seeing various options for windows. I tried the isomalt route and thought it was labor intensive and expensive. While I was finally able to get a good result -- clear and not yellow -- ultimately the isomalt clouded, either immediately or months later. I see that there is a spray -- glaze spray -- that can be used to prevent this, but it adds cost. Do the candy melt windows stay clear and non sticky?

I tried mixing and pouring gelatin windows but that was a complete bomb and I never got the hang of it. Ready-made gelatin sheets seemed like a viable alternative, but they always have that diamond pattern grid, which is fine for a Gothic build but not necessarily other architectural styles.

My final idea and most interesting option is Cello sheets from Icing Images. These look exactly like plastic report covers, but are edible. I…

I'm sure that most of you have already heard, but the National Gingerbread House contest was canceled this year, as Asheville and surrounding communities in Western NC are still in recovery mode after the hurricane. I really feel for the folks who were affected and it hit home how bad the situation remains in that part of the country.

I read that some gingerbread entries -- about 45+ will be displayed in and around the Omni Grove Park Inn. For more info:

Has anyone noticed all of the a.i. gingerbread images when searching for gingerbread houses? They are inspirational but they also can be intimidating.

Dade City's Gingerbread World started in 2016 as a small idea from a local real estate firm: engage the community to participate in something fun that carries the theme of their family real estate business, Vitis Realty. The goal is for local families and local businesses to participate and display the houses and businesses next to each other in an exhibit for the community to enjoy, thus creating gingerbread replica of our community.
