Gingerbread House Competition Rules 2025: THEME 2025 is the 40th Annual Candlelight Walking Tour, so we are encouraging creations to be "Granville" or "Candlelight Walking Tour Themed! Please note this is not required and creations will not be judged on if they adhere to the theme. SIZE Due to display space restrictions, the entry may not exceed 2 feet in height, width, or depth, including the base. CONSTRUCTION The contest is not restricted to houses; any type of building may be submitted. It is recommended that you submit your entry on a solid base, such as plywood. The main structure must be made entirely of gingerbread. All products used in the construction of the entry must be edible products, except for the base. The base is defined as the bottom support, that sits on the table. Any multi-tier creations must have edible baes for upper levels. Edible materials are not limited to sweets. No artificial display materials such as cardboard, styrofoam, or interior lighting, are to be used in the construction of the house. Candies must be unwrapped and free of any inedible materials. No glue or artificial adhesive may be used. DELIVERY Houses may be delivered to the ROBBINS HUNTER MUSEUM, 221 EAST BROADWAY on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 3 BETWEEN 12:00 PM AND 4:00 PM (OR BY APPOINTMENT). Each entry must be registered for online or accompanied by its own entry form and entry fee. Each entry must have the competitors name and telephone number marked under the base. DISPLAY Entries will be on display at the Robbins Hunter Museum on December 6th during the Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour. A video tour of the gingerbread house display can be found on the GRD Facebook Pages. Votes can be cast for the People’s Choice Award during the Walking Tour or on-line December 6th - 7th using the link posted on the Website and Facebook page of the GRD. JUDGING Entries will be judged by an independent panel of culinary and artistically talented individuals. Each entry will be judged by age group based on Overall Appearance, Originality/Creativity, and Difficulty. The rulings of the judging panel will be final. Welcome to Jurassic Gingerbread! Whether they roamed the Earth in the Mesozoic Era or inhabited the world of TV and film, dinosaurs have been a constant source of imagination and curiosity for all ages. Jurassic Gingerbread, our 16th annual holiday exhibit, will blend paleontology and pop culture as local bakers creatively interpret the ever-popular theme.

We invite bakeries, schools, organizations, individuals, and families to register by Monday, November 10, 2025. Any structure is eligible, whether the design supports the dinosaur theme, or represents a traditional holiday scene. This display, hosted by Main Street Church, is one of the many activities that will take place during the Christmas Traditions celebration in Historic Saint Charles. This display of gingerbread creations has become a tradition for many families during the Christmas season. We welcome submissions from young and old to be a part of our culinary village.

Aurora’s Gingerbread House Fundraiser is a one-day fundraising event to support the organization’s mission of creating solutions to prevent and striving to end homelessness in our community. United Midcoast Charities is bringing the community together for a fun event that combines two of our four core areas of focus food and housing and educates the community on housing and food insecurity and what our partner organizations do to address the needs right here in Midcoast Maine.

The Gingerbread House Contest is open to all, with three categories: Professional, Amateur, and Youth. A winner in each category will be selected by a group of judges from the business community, and a Peoples’ Choice winner will be selected by public vote. The event will take place in the lower conference room of 16 Bay View Hotel in Camden during Christmas by the Sea.
